Medical Billing Analyst

Comprehensive Orthopaedics

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Billing Analyst to join our Orthopaedic practice full-time, working on-site in our Wallingford, CT location Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and experience in handling electronic remittance, payment posting, and managing fee schedules. This role involves supporting coding and charge capture for orthopaedics, as well as physical and occupational therapy services. Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is essential to ensure accurate and efficient billing practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage electronic remittance and payment posting with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review, update, and maintain fee schedules to reflect current practice standards.
  • Handle denials management by researching and resolving billing discrepancies and appeals.
  • Provide support for coding and charge capture specific to orthopaedics, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
  • Utilize EMR systems for processing claims, managing patient accounts, and generating reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in an orthopaedic or multi-specialty setting.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems and billing software (e.g., Epic, Athena, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of coding guidelines, charge capture, and denials management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
