This role is part of a flexible billing team supporting multiple billing functions including claims, payment posting, denials/appeals, and AR follow-up. The position requires ownership of clean and accurate billing outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Using eClinicalWorks (ECW) to submit claims, resolve edits/rejections, and maintain billing flow
- Posting and reconciling payments (ERA/EOB), adjustments, and resolving discrepancies
- Managing denials through root cause analysis, appeals submission, and tracking resolution
- Owning accounts receivable by following up on unpaid/underpaid claims, prioritizing aging, and documenting actions
- Utilizing payer portals and tools such as commercial payers, Medicare/Medicaid, Availity, Waystar, and Noridian to check claim status and resolve issues
- Minimum 5 years healthcare billing experience covering revenue cycle, AR, posting, claims, and/or denials
- Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) required
- Proficiency in at least one of the following and willingness to cross-train: payment posting (ERA/EOB), denials/appeals, AR follow-up and aging management, claims submission/correction
- Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to work independently with accountability
- Preferred certifications: CPB, CPC, CCS
- Experience with multiple payers and multi-site billing operations
- Experience in outpatient Part B billing preferred
