The Billing Operations Assistant (Internal Title: Finance Administrative Assistant) is a full-time, in-office position reporting to the Controller. The role supports financial operations through claims processing, provider communication, and accurate recordkeeping.
Key responsibilities include responding professionally to billing inquiries from healthcare providers, sorting and distributing incoming mail, scanning and filing healthcare claims accurately, reviewing checks and Explanation of Payments (EOPs), maintaining digital files and accurate patient records, entering claims data and performing audits for accuracy, applying HIPAA regulations, and providing administrative support to the Finance team.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic, accountability, attention to detail, comfort in a structured office environment, professional communication skills, and organizational efficiency.
Qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent. Medical billing or healthcare administrative experience is preferred, along with data entry skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. The position requires ability to work independently and collaboratively.
This is an on-site role Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no remote work option. Compensation is hourly ($19–$21/hour) based on experience, with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), dental, health, vision insurance, employee assistance program, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
Physical requirements include ability to sit for extended periods, frequent computer use, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
