- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective care.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term dental health.
- Take typical dental imaging such as X-rays and 3D Cone Beams; also utilize 3D intra oral scanning technologies like the primescan.
- Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for seamless documentation review and record keeping.
Requirements:
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience in general dentistry, implant dentistry, or pediatric dentistry environments with strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dental care.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about their oral health status and treatment plans.
