Responsibilities:

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective care.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term dental health.
Take typical dental imaging such as X-rays and 3D Cone Beams; also utilize 3D intra oral scanning technologies like the primescan.
Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for seamless documentation review and record keeping.

Requirements:

Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in general dentistry, implant dentistry, or pediatric dentistry environments with strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred.
Knowledge of infection control practices, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dental care.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about their oral health status and treatment plans.
