The RCM Specialist manages rejections and denials in billing, with an emphasis on addiction medicine and telemedicine services. The role involves verifying patient eligibility, resolving claims processing issues, communicating with patients, providers, and payers, submitting medical records as needed, auditing patient accounts, and maintaining compliance with regulations including HIPAA. Work is performed in a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote), supporting a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1-2 years of medical billing experience
- Experience billing addiction medicine and/or outpatient medication-assisted treatment and/or telemedicine preferred
- Experience calling health insurance plans
- Customer service skills with empathetic communication
- Proficiency in medical software, insurance websites, EHR systems (Elation or Candid preferred)
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve
- Experience with MS Word and Google Sheets or MS Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, writing, and verbal communication skills
- CPC or CPB certification a plus, but not required
- Payment posting experience a plus, but not required
