Supports multiple doctors and office locations by managing all aspects of the insurance department, including claims processing, posting payments, accounts receivable, and verification of benefits and eligibility for patients. Presents financial information to patients and schedules appointments. Works independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Handles both medical and dental insurance tasks, including cross coding, understanding contracted adjustments, and working with insurance companies to ensure prompt payment. Utilizes reporting and computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, and manages multi-line phone systems.
Associates Degree preferred but not required. ICD-10, CPT, and CDT coding knowledge preferred; certifications a plus. 1-3 years medical/dental office experience, 3-5 years coding experience with medical and dental. Experience with medical and dental insurance, insurance verification, and customer service skills required.
