The Billing Coordinator manages the billing and collection process for pharmacy claims including insurance reimbursements and patient payments. Duties include processing insurance claims for commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid; monitoring aging reports and following up on unpaid or partially paid claims and patient balances; investigating and correcting billing errors and refiling or appealing denied claims; generating patient invoices, explaining charges, and collecting payments with excellent customer service; posting payments accurately; reconciling accounts receivable balances; communicating with payers to verify coverage and expedite claim resolutions; and maintaining records in compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulatory standards.
Qualifications include preferred pharmacy claims adjudication and pharmacy technician experience, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, and preferred 2+ years accounts receivable experience. The role supports the department manager and provides backup support within the department to ensure operations continuity. Pharmacy claims adjudication experience preferred. Pharmacy technician experience preferred. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred. 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred. Must be able to commute reliably to Smyrna, GA office five days per week.
