Claims (Billing) Specialist

At GT Independence, the Claims (Billing) Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate billing data and adhering to company and contractual guidelines to support billing and encounter data submissions. The specialist prepares billing data, submits invoices to agencies, applies payments, collects unpaid claims, reconciles advances, and maintains database records. Collaborating with team members, this role ensures compliance standards are met for audits while maintaining confidentiality of client records. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience, a High School diploma or GED (associate degree preferred), proficiency in Microsoft Excel and office procedures, strong communication skills, attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to meet deadlines within a collaborative team environment. The work is performed in a typical office setting.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in billing or administrative roles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and office terminology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with numbers and apply basic math
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a team and meeting strict deadlines
