The medical biller is responsible for submitting accurate and timely claim billings and reports based on health plan, payor, or contract requirements. Duties include accounts receivable payment follow-up, appeals, and refunds when necessary.
Tasks include completing health plan billings, compiling paperwork and researching to appeal claim denials, reviewing reimbursements from different payors, communicating professionally with external customers, resolving payment issues, reviewing and rebilling rejected claims, assisting Cash department on payor backups, and adhering to company policies and information system security.
Candidates should be flexible, detail-oriented, organized, with strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and data entry speed of at least 35 WPM with 90% accuracy. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to work well in a team environment is required.
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Ambulance billing experience or equivalent education and experience required.
