AmSurg LLC is a national leader in ambulatory surgery center services, operating over 250 centers specializing in medical fields like gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and orthopedics. They are seeking a Collector, CBO to manage follow-up on intermediate outstanding accounts receivable in a remote work setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Following up on outstanding claims and appeals
- Handling escalations and vendor clarifications
- Training employees and vendors
- Managing claims rejections, edits, and charge corrections
- Contacting patients for payments or arrangements
- Maintaining claims documentation
- Conducting audits and research on patient accounts
- Handling insurance and physician office calls
- Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with company policies
- Meeting productivity and accuracy standards
- Acting as a team resource and collaborating across departments
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years' experience in healthcare insurance receivables
- 2-3 years collection experience required
- Medical terminology, CPT, ICD-9, ASA coding knowledge
- Understanding of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and TWCC insurance guidelines
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related PC applications

Requirements & Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years experience in healthcare insurance receivables environment
- 2-3 years collection experience
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ASA codes
- Advanced understanding of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid payers
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processing guidelines
- Strong math, research, analysis, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Comfortable working with diverse personalities, including physicians and senior leadership
