The Benefits Verification Specialist role involves contacting insurance companies on behalf of the physician’s office to verify patient-specific benefits including coverage, cost shares, and provider options. Responsibilities include collecting and reviewing patient insurance info, verifying benefits, documenting details for various payer plans, potentially initiating prior authorization and claims appeals, performing quality reviews, and contributing to team efforts in a fast-paced office environment.
Qualified candidates need at least one year of healthcare benefits verification experience or related field, prior EMR/EHR experience, strong ethics and integrity, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to adapt and work collaboratively.
- Minimum one year healthcare facility, provider, or payer benefits verification experience or equivalent
