Florida Urology Partners is expanding our Surgical Authorization team. The Surgical Authorization Specialist reviews, processes, and secures prior authorization for surgical procedures, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate. This role collaborates with healthcare providers and insurance companies and maintains compliance with policies to facilitate timely approvals. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating authorization requests, obtaining and verifying medical documentation, communicating with insurance companies to secure authorizations and resolve denials, collaborating with surgery scheduling and healthcare providers for additional information, maintaining accurate records of requests and outcomes, reviewing daily surgery schedules for authorization needs, and entering authorizations into the Epic system.
Must communicate effectively with patients and co-workers and have working knowledge of healthcare insurance and medical terminology.
This position requires at least 2 years of surgical authorization experience and preferably experience with Epic EHR.
