OOMC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join the team. The Surgical Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical services, coordinating with surgeons, staff, and patients to provide exceptional care.
The role includes supporting daily activities in the Surgical Department such as scheduling, paperwork, and ICS management. Responsibilities involve traveling to Omni Eye Services locations as needed, adhering to COVID guidelines, scheduling procedures for all physicians, managing surgical information and documentation in various systems, updating surgical templates, and coordinating co-care information.
The Surgical Coordinator completes the check-in process for assigned surgeons, submits coding sheets to the Billing department, creates and maintains surgical folders, collects payments from elective and self-pay patients, scans and files patient documents daily, handles patient and surgical voicemail messages promptly, and records all patient interactions requiring personnel assistance.
Additional duties include verifying surgical benefits, contacting patients regarding copayments and insurance information, managing referral sources, submitting referrals, sorting mail and fax requests, greeting and directing patients and visitors, confirming surgical procedures with patients, forwarding precertification and insurance verification requests, maintaining confidentiality and authorized release of information, ordering office and surgical supplies, and traveling regularly to satellite locations if required.

Salary is hourly ($19-$23/hour) and will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and skill level, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and relevant expertise.
