Eagle Physicians & Associates - Business Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Claims Specialist to join the team. This role requires a minimum of 1 year of prior experience in medical billing for primary care physicians. The position is generally Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, and is an in-office role.
The Claims Specialist will work assigned claims within specified time periods, review claims for correct ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers, follow billing protocols, and maintain knowledge of insurance carrier-specific billing requirements and the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI). The role involves correcting errors on claims prior to submission and resolving returned claim denials promptly. Collaboration with EDI, Insurance, and Customer Service Representatives is essential.
Candidates should have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and good computer skills. Understanding of insurances, healthcare billing, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is necessary. Ability to communicate clearly and work independently is required.

- Minimum 1-year medical billing and claims processing experience for primary care physicians
- Good understanding of medical diagnosis and procedural coding requirements (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Knowledge of medical insurance billing requirements
- Strong computer skills; familiarity with eClinical Works preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology required for accurate claims review
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
