This role acts as an ambassador of care for patients before and after visits and surgical procedures in clinic and the OR. The specialist supports clinics and providers, assists leadership with training, education, and KPI tracking related to surgical and clinic scheduling, and provides expert support to non-senior team members.
Responsibilities include managing communications, scheduling patient services and surgeries, coordinating pre-procedural testing and medications, handling provider calendars including OR block time, completing order entry and referrals, performing audits on patient records for billing and compliance, facilitating pre-authorizations and certifications through payer portals, coordinating peer reviews, obtaining CPT codes for authorization submissions, managing authorization-related documentation, investigating patient satisfaction discrepancies, and contributing to departmental workflows and process improvements.
Additional duties include managing office communications, coordinating clinic template changes, assisting with forms like FMLA and Disability, and participating in process improvement initiatives.
Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years equivalent experience.
