Medical Staff Coordinator (Credentialing / Provider Enrollment)

We’re seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator to join our Quality & Risk Management Office—the department that ensures all providers are properly credentialed and privileged to deliver safe, high-quality care. Responsibilities include:

  • Administering medical staff organization activities and serving as a link between senior management and medical staff to promote good communication and positive working relationships.
  • Ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies regarding credentialing.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and laws.
  • Establishing and maintaining standards related to credentialing, quality, and administrative functions.
  • Coordinating insurance credentialing processes for providers.
  • Monitoring departmental budget expenses and assuring financial performance.
  • Interacting with regional and corporate colleagues, internal and external customers.
  • Coordinating and preparing medical staff functions and continuing medical education programs.
  • Performing bookkeeping activities and managing expirables like licenses and certifications.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all business and medical staff information.
  • Managing communication flow between administration, credentials, medical staff leadership, and the Chief of staff.
  • Maintaining physician data in Meditech and organizing medical staff meetings.
  • Acting as custodian of medical staff documents and preparing correspondence related to policy changes, peer review, and communications.
  • Developing monthly calendars for medical staff-related activities.
  • Processing reference and verification requests, facilitating peer review, and tracking actions and correspondence.
  • Demonstrating ability to interact positively with diverse personnel and meeting attendance standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years advanced administrative experience in healthcare; credentialing experience preferred.
  • Associate Degree encouraged.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal statutes, regulatory requirements, and medical staff bylaws.
  • Effective organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Work schedule and location:

  • Full Time, 40 hours per week.
  • Onsite in Anacortes, WA.

Salary:

  • $38.55 – $56.23 per hour.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years advanced administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous credentialing experience strongly preferred.
  • Associate degree encouraged.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal legal statutes, DNV, DOH, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws related to Physician Credentialing, Peer Review, Physician Quality Assurance.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with openness to direction.
  • Must meet regular attendance standards and maintain low sick leave utilization.
