Big Leap Health is a mental healthcare company focused on expanding access to interventional psychiatry practices, including Spravato (esketamine) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). The company provides operational, administrative, and clinical support to help clinics launch and scale.
This part-time contractor role supports remote coding and audit operations. The primary focus is auditing coded claims against clinical documentation to identify unsupported codes, documentation gaps, and compliance risks. Early on, the role also includes direct coding while the internal coding tool is being validated, with auditing becoming the main responsibility over time. The position also supports MIPS/QPP eligibility review and payer audits as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong, recent hands-on experience with medical or behavioral health coding and auditing
- Ability to audit and correct coded claims
- Strong written communication skills to explain documentation issues clearly
- Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable working independently
- Willingness to sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and comply with HIPAA requirements for handling PHI
Preferred Qualifications
- CPC certification is a plus
- Behavioral health or psych coding background, especially E/M and psychotherapy coding
- Prior audit and compliance experience
Compensation and Schedule
- Part-time contract position, 10 to 15 hours per week
