Temporary Medical Biller role supporting the closure of a medical practice in Laguna Hills, CA. This position is onsite, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is expected to last 1-3 months.

Responsibilities include:

Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers, including Workers' Compensation payers
Review claim status and follow up to ensure timely reimbursement
Manage accounts receivable and resolve denied, rejected, or underpaid claims
Communicate with insurance adjusters, case managers, attorneys, and medical providers regarding claim issues
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements
Post payments, adjustments, and account updates accurately in the billing system
Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities and claim resolutions
Monitor aging reports and perform collections follow-up as needed
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer-specific billing requirements
Assist with administrative and office support duties as needed

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of medical billing experience required
Previous experience handling Workers' Compensation claims and insurance billing strongly preferred
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding practices
Strong understanding of insurance verification, claims submission, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Reliable attendance and ability to commit to the duration of the assignment
