Support the billing operations of a long-term care pharmacy. This role is responsible for insurance verification, claims processing, billing issue resolution, and providing customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and clients.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining accurate billing records while ensuring timely claim processing and strong customer support.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Accurately enter billing charges and maintain patient account records
- Initiate private-pay collections following insurance denials, cancellations, or coverage issues
- Process, monitor, and follow up on insurance claim denials
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and client account concerns
- Complete monthly billing closeouts and invoice processing
- Communicate with patients, family members, and insurance providers regarding billing questions and account status
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy
- Assist with additional billing and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Previous medical billing experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong data entry and computer skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
