Our client is a rapidly growing specialty medical practice focused on comprehensive pain management and spine care. The organization is expanding and bringing billing operations in-house, building out its revenue cycle function to support increasing patient volume and improve operational efficiency. This newly created role reports to the Billing Manager and offers the opportunity to strengthen day-to-day billing operations for a high-volume pain management and spine practice.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and confident managing the billing cycle, especially EOB interpretation, follow-up on denials, and working across multiple insurance payers, including out-of-network scenarios.
Required
- 2+ years of medical billing experience
- Strong follow-up and claims resolution experience, including denials, underpayments, and rejections
- Hands-on experience reviewing and interpreting EOBs
- Working knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures
- Experience with EMR and billing systems; eClinicalWorks (eCW) strongly valued
- High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage volume and priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including comfort calling payers and escalating appropriately
Preferred
- Prior billing experience in pain management, orthopedics, and/or neurosurgery
- eClinicalWorks (eCW) user experience
- Knowledge of NSA billing requirements and arbitration processes
- Experience handling out-of-network claims and navigating payer-specific requirements across multiple carriers
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Billing/coding certifications are a plus
