We are seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Professional to join our team. In this role, you will review medical records, confirm CPT codes, and assess whether medical bills have been overcharged. This is a commission-only position with strong earning potential.
Responsibilities
- Account for coding and abstracting of patient medical appointments
- Research and analyze data needs for reimbursement
- Ensure codes are properly sequenced
- Analyze, file, and process medical records
- Keep detailed documentation of any deficiencies or issues with medical records
- Provide education and training to other coding staff
- Review and verify documentation
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Medical Billing and Coder or in a similar role
- Familiarity with coding software and other computer programs
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, especially VLOOKUP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and able to problem-solve
- Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines
