MDB Health Services is hiring an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join the billing team at its headquarters in Flowood, Mississippi. This on-site role supports billing for multiple locations, including Medicare Part A and Part B billing.
The team supports revenue cycle operations for medical and psychiatric care provided to residents of long-term care communities across Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of medical claims billing experience.
Experience submitting claims and processing client invoice billing.
Ability to abstract clinical information from medical records, charts, and other documents.
Ability to assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes according to established procedures.
Knowledge of insurance billing guidelines, including Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers.
Knowledge of payer updates, bundling and unbundling, medical necessity, coding requirements, and medical terminology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and EMR or EHR systems.
Preferred:
- Associate degree or higher
- One or more relevant credentials such as CCS, CCSP, CPC, CPC-P, RHIA, COC, or CPCH
