Medix is partnering with a technology-driven healthcare organization to hire an Accounts Receivable Representative for its growing revenue cycle team. This is a direct-hire, fully remote opportunity supporting physician practices and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) clients across the country.
The role focuses on insurance follow-up, denial resolution, and reimbursement improvement while working with a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Responsibilities
- Manage assigned accounts receivable by researching and resolving unpaid or underpaid insurance claims
- Perform insurance follow-up with commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers through phone calls and online payer portals
- Investigate denials and determine the appropriate course of action to maximize reimbursement
- Submit corrected claims, appeals, reconsiderations, and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate account documentation within billing and practice management systems
- Prioritize daily work queues while meeting productivity and quality expectations
- Assist with payment research, eligibility verification, and other revenue cycle activities as needed
- Escalate complex reimbursement issues appropriately
- Identify workflow improvement opportunities and support operational initiatives
- Adapt to changing client needs while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, insurance follow-up, or healthcare revenue cycle
- Experience working within physician practices, specialty groups, ambulatory care, or DME billing environments preferred
- Understanding of revenue cycle functions including insurance follow-up, denial management, appeals, claims resolution, and collections
- Experience using EMR, EHR, or practice management systems such as Athenahealth, Epic, NextGen, ModMed, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement processes
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable learning new technology and adapting to evolving workflows
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
