Suncoast Center provides emotional wellness services to individuals and families in an environment that values diversity and inclusion. This role is responsible for managing outpatient medical revenue cycle activities, with a focus on behavioral health billing.
The Billing Specialist handles insurance denials, electronic claims submission, payment posting, error resolution, appeals, rebilling, authorization verification, patient billing inquiries, and account maintenance. The position also uses EHR reporting and billing systems to identify and correct issues affecting claim payment and billing accuracy.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient medical revenue cycle experience
- Behavioral health billing experience preferred
- Experience working Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and managed care claims and denials
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
- Experience using an EHR
- Medical Billing, HIM, and/or coding certification required, or a 2-year degree in Medical Billing, HIM, or a billing/coding certification in lieu of experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Computer proficiency, including Excel, Microsoft Outlook, web portal navigation, and electronic claims processing (837/835 files)
- Ability to maintain accurate patient demographic, insurance, and billing records
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass drug screening and criminal/background checks
- Must have a valid Florida driver's license, reliable vehicle, valid registration, and insurance
- Must comply with clearinghouse screening and other regulatory requirements
