University of Colorado Medicine (CU Medicine) is a large multi-specialty physician group practice providing business operations, revenue cycle, and administrative services for more than 4,000 physicians and advanced practice providers.
This role supports the Accounts Receivable Resolution team by resolving insurance claim denials and preparing effective written appeals to carriers. The specialist is responsible for denial resolution across assigned departments and works independently to manage complex denied claims.
This position can be performed 100% remotely, and out-of-state candidates will be considered.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in medical practice billing
- Experience with denials, appeals, insurance collections, and related follow-up
- ICD-10 and CPT coding assessment skills
- CPC certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred
- Intermediate PC/software skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to apply contract language and denial appeal logic
- Ability to manage high-volume work with attention to quality
