Responsible for all phases of billing and account follow-up to support thorough account resolution and promote financial health. This role handles claims submission, insurance follow-up, reimbursement issues, and related account resolution for a multi-facility, multi-specialty organization.
This is a remote position, but candidates must reside and perform work within Oregon or Washington.
Key responsibilities include resolving claim rejections and denials, identifying billing trends, drafting appeals, maintaining follow-up work lists, ensuring compliance with payer contracts and policies, researching credit balances and unposted cash, processing correspondence, and coordinating with coding as needed.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in billing or insurance account follow-up required
- Formal training or college coursework from a medical coding accredited school, specific to medical billing, may be considered in lieu of experience
- Medical terminology experience required
- Knowledge of insurance processes and billing guidelines/regulations required
- Coding knowledge preferred
- Epic experience preferred
Credentials
- Medical Billing Certificate preferred
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred
- HealthStream Badge preferred
