The Medical Records & Billing Administrator supports medical records management, payer communications, and billing-related activities. This role helps ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements and contributes to the Revenue Operations team's audit and billing functions.
Key responsibilities include processing medical records requests, managing payer mail, responding to urgent requests, handling billing refunds and payer reconsiderations, supporting manual claim processing, assisting with audit documentation and record retrieval, identifying workflow inefficiencies, and helping with additional billing team tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant certification preferred
- 1–2+ years of experience in medical records, healthcare billing, or related administrative roles preferred
- Familiarity with payer processes, medical billing terminology, and claims workflows
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
- Ability to work remotely with reliable internet and a private workspace suitable for confidential information
