Oncare Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Biller to support billing, claims follow-up, payment posting, and refund processing.
- Review patient chart documentation to ensure correct coding and accurate billing.
- Enter and process accurate data in a timely manner.
- Submit claims and troubleshoot errors for paper and electronic claims according to carrier requirements.
- Correct and resubmit claims returned by mail or electronically.
- Assist patients with questions about individual statements.
- Research unpaid claims daily and work to reduce accounts receivable balances.
- Post payments associated with patients and insurance carrier remittances.
- Prepare and process refunds to patients and insurance carriers.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of coursework in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, ICD-9, CPT coding conventions, and disease processes from an accredited program.
- At least 2 years of billing experience in a private practice or healthcare organization preferred.
- Experience with physician or ambulatory setting coding preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
