Reviews and processes patient statements for multiple locations.
Processes refund requests and posts refunds into the system.
Reads and interprets insurance Explanations of Payments (EOP) and Explanations of Benefits (EOB) and takes appropriate next steps to resolve issues.
Posts payments, charge backs, adjustments, and remark codes in a timely and accurate manner.
Researches difficult ERAs/EOBs.
Researches open accounts receivables, resolves claims errors, and reprocesses claims for successful payment.
Maintains the integrity of patient ledgers and manages balances according to guidelines.
Submits claims electronically and by paper as required, including secondary claims with attached explanation of benefits.
Answers questions from patients and clinic team members regarding open account balances and billing issues.
Ensures compliance with HIPAA/HITECH requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Acts as a liaison and provides excellent customer support to teammates in optometry practices.
Minimal travel to field practices may be required.

Preferred experience in healthcare payment posting, healthcare insurance and patient collections, and optical/vision billing.
Experience with Acuity Logic, Compulink, Eyefinity PM, and/or Officemate is a plus.
Experience with optical billing, vision therapy billing, and Medicare/Medi-Cal billing is a plus.
Must be able to hear, sit for long periods, stand, walk, use hand dexterity, lift up to 20 pounds, and read a computer screen for long periods of time.
