Under the general supervision of the Director of Patient Accounting, performs patient billing functions for electronic transmissions, paper claim submission, and all related billing functions for assigned financial classes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proof of highest level of education completed, but not less than high school education or equivalent.
- Ability to type with acceptable speed and accuracy.
- Ability to operate a computer, 10-key calculator, electronic typewriter, and other office equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, including substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Ability to sit for a sustained period of time.
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
- Understanding of computer systems, process design, and data management.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 50 pounds.
- English language proficiency with excellent written and verbal fluency.
- Preferred: Certification in Medical Billing from AMBA, AAHAM, HFMA, or equivalent.
- Preferred: Three years of experience as a Medical Biller.
- Preferred: Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
