Patient Biller

AdvancedHEALTH specializes in medical billing services, accounts receivable, and information management for medical practices. The Patient Biller is responsible for answering calls and fielding billing questions in a fast-paced medical billing environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answer incoming patient and provider phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Respond to billing-related questions, including charges, payments, insurance coverage, and account balances
  • Document patient interactions and billing updates in the billing system
  • Assist patients with payment options, account resolutions, and billing discrepancies
  • Verify patient insurance and demographic information as needed
  • Follow up on outstanding inquiries and unresolved billing issues
  • Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
  • Collaborate with coding, insurance, and clinical staff to resolve billing concerns
  • Meet quality, productivity, and customer service standards
  • Process payments, update records, and handle insurance information accurately
  • Perform other assigned duties
Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical billing preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding practices
  • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Strong insurance knowledge
  • Proficiency with computer systems, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle high call volumes and multitask effectively
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Excellent phone and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain sensitive information confidentially
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA standards
  • Ability to train staff and write protocols and training materials
