UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join its Administrative Offices in Cheektowaga, NY.

This role is responsible for timely collection of balances, resolution of accounts receivable discrepancies, follow-up on outstanding payer and self-pay accounts, and research of denied or unpaid claims to maximize reimbursement.

Key duties include working A/R, resolving denials and under-payments, processing insurance payments and refunds, handling patient payments and calls, and supporting compliance with applicable state and federal laws.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

Some college preferred
Minimum 2–3 years of billing and aging experience
Strong understanding of A/R processes
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, edits, and modifiers
Understanding of charge entry and clean claim submission
Experience working denied and unpaid claims
Strong knowledge of NYS Workers' Compensation insurance and other local, state, and federal insurance requirements
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
