RECOVRY is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented medical biller to join its healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have out-of-network physical therapy experience and will help ensure accurate and timely billing, coding, and claims processing for patient services. This role also includes administrative patient services and supporting overall billing operations in a medical office environment.

Key responsibilities

Assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes to patient records and submit claims to insurance companies
Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services
Analyze and resolve billing discrepancies and denials promptly
Maintain accurate medical records, including patient demographics and treatment plans
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations
Perform billing and collections duties, including claim submission and patient follow-up for payment
Research and resolve billing and coding issues, including appeals and audits
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate and complete billing and coding
Stay current with changes in medical coding and billing regulations

Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Post-secondary education in medical billing and coding preferred
Out-of-network physical therapy billing experience required
CPC or CCS certification preferred
Proficiency in medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding
Experience with claims submission and denial resolution
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Familiarity with medical office software and electronic health records (EHRs)
ICD-10 experience preferred
