Responsible for coordinating and performing professional billing activities related to notify, consent, and good faith estimates in Epic in accordance with the No Surprise Billing Act (NSBA).
Uses Epic tools such as work queues, reports, and modules/applications to support self-pay services, uninsured patients, and patients with non-contracted plans.
Processes applicable pre-service payments and may assist with out-of-network authorization and single case agreement processes for patients with non-contracted plans.
Works closely with division, clinical, scheduling, pre-arrival, pre-certification, and WUPN staff to support referral triage and ensure services are appropriately coordinated or canceled when necessary.
Serves as a liaison between the department, division, patients, and affiliated hospital systems.
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and/or experience
- 5 years of billing or insurance experience
Preferred qualifications
- 2 years of college or business school experience
