Wilson Health is hiring a direct hire Billing Specialist for its Patient Accounting Department in Sidney, Ohio. This role is responsible for releasing insurance claims electronically and mailing hard copy UB-1500 claims as required. The position also follows up on unpaid claims, rebills claims when needed, and appeals denied claims to help secure payment.
The role works closely with departments across the hospital, including Case Management, Medical Records, Central Scheduling, and Registration, to resolve claim issues, denials, missing authorizations, and medical necessity documentation. Billing is performed through EPIC and Quadax, with ongoing attention to payer requirements and claim edits.
This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule, no weekends or holidays, and flexible first-shift hours. The role is onsite for the first 6 months, with a hybrid remote option available after that.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of previous hospital billing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records required
- High school diploma or GED
Skills
- Accurate typing, keyboarding, and data entry skills
- Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS codes
- Proficiency with Excel
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers
