ProMD’s Revenue Cycle Management division is seeking an experienced Medical Insurance Collection Specialist to support high-volume medical billing and collections for multispecialty providers. This role focuses on reimbursement analysis, denial management, appeals, insurance verification, and maintaining client accounts receivable performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze reimbursement procedures and account activity to maximize reimbursement.
- Review and evaluate denials and implement actions to overturn them.
- Identify denial trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Work to maintain assigned client AR below 18%.
- Use insurance portals to appeal denied claims.
- Focus on payer profiles, contract adherence, and denied claim resolution.
- Identify issue trends such as incorrect coding, nonpayment patterns, and physician coding inconsistencies.
- Maintain a professional, confidential work environment.
- Provide consistent support to clients, management, and team members.
Requirements & Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- Proven experience in a medical insurance collection department.
- Strong knowledge of medical appeal guidelines and insurance verification processes.
- Experience managing appeals and conducting insurance verification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of medical billing guidelines across multiple specialties, including OB/GYN, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Primary Care.
- Prior hands-on medical insurance collection experience; this is not an entry-level role.
