Accendra Health is seeking a Collections Associate to support customer billing, timely remittance, and account integrity for healthcare services and products. The role involves working with customers and payers to help maintain uninterrupted cash flow, resolve billing issues, and assist with claims submission and follow-up.
Key responsibilities include:
- Answer questions from customers, clerical staff, and insurance companies
- Identify and resolve patient billing complaints
- Handle customer collection calls
- Document activities in the ERP system accurately and on time
- Ensure billing activity is handled correctly
- Evaluate and secure needed prescriptions, prior authorizations, and medical justification to support claims payment and appeals
- Edit and resubmit claims for payment
- Prepare and review clean claims for submission to insurers electronically or on paper
- Provide feedback to the Group Team Lead, Supervisor, and Manager regarding account issues
- Perform routine tasks under clearly defined guidelines
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of customer service or related experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance terms/codes, including HCPC and ICD-9
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication skills and professional phone/email etiquette
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
