Minnesota Urology is seeking a dedicated Coding Specialist to join the team.
- Monday through Friday schedule
- No weekends, holidays, or evenings
- Hybrid work options available after a minimum of 90 days in office
- Responsible for accurately linking ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to daily charges
- Ensures coding accuracy, timely charge entry, and ongoing review of coding practices
Requirements & Qualifications
- Represent the organization professionally and maintain patient and company confidentiality
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, co-workers, management, and providers
- Use Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, NextGen, and UroChart effectively
- Be proficient with alpha and 10-key data entry
- Review medical documents for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare records according to detailed instructions
- Analyze workflows and improve processes as needed
- Multitask and adjust priorities quickly
- Stay current on coding procedures and federal legislative changes
- Have knowledge of basic insurance policies, procedures, and reimbursement practices
- Completion of one of the following within the first year: CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
- Two or more years of coding experience preferred
- Previous independent specialty physician practice experience preferred
- Previous EMR experience required; Athena experience preferred
