BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist to join its team in a full-time remote role.
This position focuses on inpatient coding for complex, multi-day, multi-specialty encounters using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS systems. The role supports accurate diagnosis and procedural coding, MSDRG assignment, and quality-related review processes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Location: Remote, but must reside in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina
- Certification required: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Certification preferred: RHIT (Health Information)
- Education required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Education preferred: Associate degree in Health Information Technology
- Experience required: 5 years in Acute Care
- Experience required: 3 years in Inpatient Coding
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
- Ability to formulate physician queries and support accurate code assignment
