The Medical Coding Education Associate is responsible for comprehensive analysis of claims data to generate refined and industry-relevant concepts that support the company across business lines and client interactions.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with providers and internal/external stakeholders to review coding and documentation guidelines.
- Examine medical records and documentation to ensure accurate code assignment.
- Research and validate medical coding and billing issues, trends, and regulatory changes.
- Analyze claims data to support the creation of educational concepts.
- Launch education concepts and provide provider feedback on coding guidelines.
- Conduct detailed chart reviews and provide education based on documentation received.
Work arrangement
- Hybrid role requiring in-office presence 1–2 days per week.
- Alternate locations may be considered for candidates within commuting distance of an office.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Associate degree (AA/AS) and at least 4 years of experience working with ICD-9/10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding; or equivalent education and experience.
- Current, valid, active, and unrestricted RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and/or CPC certification.
Preferred experience
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
