Responsible for billing department functions including billing, follow-up, cash posting, and denials management for a multispecialty billing department. The role includes completing monthly billing reports for the department and assigned physicians, writing denial arguments, handling audit-related issues, and making decisions related to billing accuracy, rebilling, follow-up, and prevention efforts.
Work is expected to align with Singing River Health System policies and procedures, accreditation standards, and governing guidance for healthcare employees.
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Remote in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Texas, or onsite at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or other degree preferred
Certifications
- AAPC certification preferred
- If certified, continuing education requirements must be maintained
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in physician billing
- Coding experience preferred
- Working knowledge of AHA Coding Clinic preferred
