Join One Health Ohio as a Medical Billing Specialist and support accurate, timely billing and reimbursement in a healthcare setting. This role works with patients, insurance companies, clerical staff, and the billing/reimbursement team to resolve billing issues, process claims, and maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
You will help prepare and submit claims, follow up on delinquent accounts, process insurance payments, and assist with coding and EMR-related training support. The position also includes routine administrative and collections-related duties to support the organization’s revenue cycle.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience preferred
- Certified Biller required
- Certified Coder preferred
- Experience with dental or medical billing environments is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit clean claims electronically or by paper
- Answer billing questions from patients, staff, and insurance companies
- Resolve patient billing complaints
- Prepare, review, and send patient statements
- Establish budget payment plans based on patient financial status
- Monitor delinquent accounts and recommend collection actions
- Correct and resubmit claims to third-party payers
- Process insurance payments and prepare daily deposits
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations
- Support accurate billing and coding practices
- Assist with provider training in coding and EMR systems
