The Billing Specialist assists patients with billing statements by phone, email, and correspondence. This role is responsible for collecting patient accounts from insurance companies, working accounts through the aging process, and ensuring effective and timely collection of outstanding balances. The position supports revenue collection for the organization and does not provide direct patient care.
Responsibilities include resolving claims issues, handling payer rejections, working aged accounts receivable, and managing work queues to prioritize timely resolution and payment.
High school diploma or GED.
1-2 years of healthcare experience.
Preferred experience in medical billing.
Preferred education in medical billing and/or coding.
