Medical Billing Specialist

Join a thriving pediatric orthopaedic group as a billing specialist supporting revenue cycle management and patient account resolution.

In this role, you will oversee the billing process for healthcare services, ensuring accurate claim submissions and full payment collection. Responsibilities include reviewing rejected claims, making justified adjustments, handling appeals for denied or underpaid claims, creating monthly accounts receivable reports, and resolving issues with provider representatives.

You will work closely with insurance verification, front desk, charge entry personnel, revenue cycle specialists, and providers to resolve outstanding insurance payments, correct registration errors, and improve claim accuracy. The position is on-site at the St. Petersburg or Tampa office location.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical revenue cycle
  • Experience with AR follow-up, EDI management, coding, medical terminology, and computer skills
  • CPC or CPB certification, or willingness to obtain within 2 years with employer-paid support
  • Experience in insurance verification and pediatrics/orthopaedics is preferred
  • Familiarity with AthenaPractice, Encoda, or Phreesia is a plus
  • Knowledge of Florida Medicaid is a plus
