Legacy Community Health is seeking a Collections Specialist to support timely and accurate billing and collections for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. This hybrid role is based in Houston and includes regular follow-up with insurance companies, appeal processing, claim review, and account research.
The position is part of a mission-driven federally qualified health center focused on improving community healthcare outcomes. The role involves collaboration with internal teams, communication with patients and third-party carriers, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a business, medical, or technical environment
- Previous experience in a medical office setting and/or with an Electronic Medical Record is a plus
- Customer service driven
- Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines
- Excellent organization, time management, oral communication, and written communication skills
- Strong team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities
