Ohio Foot and Ankle Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Billing Specialist to support accurate and timely medical billing operations. This role is responsible for claim submission, payment posting, follow-up, and ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
- Submit medical claims accurately and timely to insurance carriers
- Review claims for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to submission
- Post insurance payments, adjustments, and denials
- Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies
- Work denied claims and submit corrected or appealed claims as needed
- Verify insurance benefits and billing requirements when necessary
- Maintain compliance with billing regulations, payer guidelines, and company policies
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, internal teams, and leadership
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Medical billing experience preferred
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing processes preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with EMR/practice management systems
