Guardian Pharmacy of Northwest Florida is seeking a Pharmacy Billing Specialist to join its growing long-term care pharmacy team in Crestview, Florida.
This role supports medication management services for seniors and individuals with complex care needs in a non-retail pharmacy environment. The position is responsible for processing customer bills and insurance claims accurately and on time, assisting with daily and month-end billing functions, and providing excellent service to patients, caregivers, medical providers, and insurance carriers.
The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
High school diploma or GED required.
Pharmacy technician license, certification, or registration per state requirements; national certification preferred and may be required depending on pharmacy-specific needs.
1+ years of related experience.
Advanced computer skills; pharmacy information system experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks and strict deadlines.
Quality-minded with the ability to identify errors and investigate inaccuracies.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Researching and verifying patient eligibility and insurance coverage
- Updating patient and insurance information in billing and pharmacy systems
- Maintaining audit-ready files and supporting compliance documentation
- Resolving billing questions and claim issues
- Processing prescription claims adjudication, rejections, prior authorizations, and rebilling as needed
- Handling payments, returns, credits, and delinquent account follow-up
- Following HIPAA and other applicable government regulations
