Job Overview

A well-established and progressive dermatology private practice in the Northshore of Chicago is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join a high-functioning team. The practice uses EMA and EMA PM and values professionalism, ethical standards, teamwork, and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Handle comprehensive dermatology billing functions as part of a coordinated billing team
• Support billing performance optimization and AR aging processes
• Streamline billing and collections processes
• Improve workflows and help build or refine billing metrics
• Support and manage a team of billers, both virtual and onsite
• Audit daily claim billing for accuracy
• Resolve claim edits and exclusions
• Understand billing guidelines and payer requirements
• Oversee unpaid claims to ensure prompt payment based on aging
• Handle insurance appeal work
• Assist with balancing and closing
• Manage collections, refunds, and statements
• Follow up on patient and insurance accounts receivable
• Answer patient questions about balances and insurance issues
• Meet departmental productivity and quality standards
• Provide team building, training, and cross-functional collaboration
• Train front desk and call center staff on billing-related issues

Schedule and Work Environment

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Onsite work location
