To provide essential business office functions by maintaining compliant billing and collecting of medical services provided by BBAHC. This role supports billing across IHS, self-pay, commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid third-party insurance groups.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years of documented medical billing experience
- Ability to monitor and mentor Biller Specialist I for accuracy and training
- Willingness to obtain Certified Billing Specialist certification within one year of hire
- Computer literate with typing speed of 60 wpm and ability to work across multiple computer platforms
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
- Prior general office and money-handling experience required
- Medical terminology preferred, or ability to obtain certificate within one year
- Yup'ik speaking preferred
- General understanding of insurance billing and willingness to learn medical billing with supervised on-site training
- Excellent verbal and written customer service skills and ability to interact in a positive HIPAA-compliant manner with patients and co-workers
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Able to work with minimal supervision and resolve medical billing issues through research
- Able to represent BBAHC in a professional manner
