Vital Heart & Vein, established in 1998, is the largest private cardiology practice in the Houston area, providing high-quality, compassionate cardiovascular care. This dual-function role supports the Revenue Cycle Management team with accurate CPT and ICD-10 code assignment, charge entry, clean claim submission, and billing compliance across cardiology and vascular service lines.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical coding/billing for a physician practice; cardiology experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of insurance carrier billing rules for office visits, diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, and interventional services
- Experience with cardiology and vascular billing strongly preferred, including echocardiography, stress testing, nuclear imaging, cardiac catheterization, and EP procedures
- Proficiency with practice management and EHR systems; eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience strongly preferred
- Ability to review and abstract clinical documentation for accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and modifier coding
- Knowledge of LCD and NCD guidelines, physician query processes, and claim compliance standards
- Ability to maintain coding accuracy and resolve clearinghouse rejections promptly
